Here I am again, this time with my msn messenger switched on, radio.zillion.be blowing my headphones and a Starbucks Frappuchino to keep me chilled while it's 38 degrees Celsius outside!
On Friday night we ended up at a club, of which I don't remember the Greek name, in the Glyfada area. We had a tabel reservation for twelve people including two bottles of liquor at the price of 260 euros. You would expect to get treated well for such an amount of money...not in Greek clubs. If your not Greek, then don't expect a decent table, at least that's the explanation our Greek host gave why we got the worst table in the club. After one our of discussion to stay or leave to club, I decided to just enjoy the nice view on the sea with an Absolut Wodka coke. Some nice tracks hit the decks, but each time we started dancing, the DJ blowed it by playing Greek music. Tonight, we'll check out Venue, a club located 60km from the place where we stay. It will be packed, since Paul Van Dyk is playing the decks. I hope we'll get in...
Enough about nightlife, back to the Olympics. I woke up late on Saturday, 3pm I think, had a swim in the pool at the backyard of our house to recover from my Wodka hang-over. There was not much time to recover, since we had tickets for soccer. So did 27.600 other people for the Karaiskaki Stadium near Faliro metro station. The quater final Mali vs Italy was great fun, Mali players entertained the spectators, so 90% of the crowd supported the Mali team. Extra time was needed to decide on the winner, and unfortunately Italy scored in the 27th mintute of the 30 minutes additional time. We had souvlaki (Greek eufemism for junkfood) as dinner and some Icecoffees afterwards to keep the food inside at a nice bar called "?" near the Chech house in Faliro.
Here ends my blog for today, need to find out when I can take a boat to Mykonos, the Greek Ibiza, for a few days of fun. Btw The last swimming event at the main pool took place on Saturday night, so I switch to 'tourist' mode for the rest of the week. ;)
